Merko, KMG to build Old City Harbor tram line for EUR 36.5 mln

TALLINN - The Tallinn Urban Environment and Public Works Department has announced that the winning bidder in public procurement for the design and construction of a tram line connecting the Old City Harbor and the Rail Baltic Ulemiste passenger terminal is a joint offer of by AS Merko Ehitus Eesti, part of listed Estonian construction group AS Merko Ehitus, and KMG Inseneriehituse AS with a total cost of approximately 36.5 million euros, plus VAT.

Construction works on the tram line connecting the Old City Harbor and the Rail Baltic Ulemiste passenger terminal will run on an approximately 2.5-kilometre section from the intersection of Kivisilla and Gonsiori roads all the way to Pohja blvd. The duration of the work shall be 30 months from the date of conclusion of the contract, Merko told the stock exchange.

AS Merko Ehitus will announce the conclusion of the design and construction contract via the stock exchange. In carrying out the works, as Merko Ehitus Eesti is the leading partner with a 50:50 ratio.
