Martins Dukurs places second in Skeleton World Cup's opening race in Lake Placid

LAKE PLACID - Latvia's Martins Dukurs placed second at the Skeleton World Cup opening race in the United States' Lake Placid on Sunday, while his brother Tomass Dukurs was sixth.

Axel Jungk (Germany) finished first, 0.12 seconds ahead of Martins Dukurs, while Alexander Tretiakov (Russia) finished in third place.

Last season, Martins Dukurs placed third the World Cup overall standings, while Tomass Dukurs was seventh.
