VILNIUS – Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda on Monday congratulated Edgaras Matakas on winning a gold medal at the European Para Swimming Championship.
He wished the athlete unwavering energy and determination and many triumphs in the future as well as many occasions to prove to Lithuania and the entire world that strong will and sincere work open up the path to all achievements.
Matakas, 22, won the gold medal in men’s 50m freestyle with a time of 26.05 seconds.
The Paralympian, who has a visual impairment, earlier won gold at the World Championship.
