VILNIUS - Lithuanian Education, Science and Sport Minister Algirdas Monkevicius and Jaime Yarza, Head of FIFA Tournaments, are meeting in Vilnius on Friday to discuss preparations for the 2020 FIFA Futsal World Cup.
Tomas Danilevicius, the president of the Lithuanian Football Federation, and Edgaras Stankevicius, the federation's secretary general, will also participate in the meeting.
Lithuania will host the 2020 FIFA Futsal World Cup on September 12 through October 4, with arenas in Kaunas, Vilnius and Klaipeda chosen as the venues.
This is the first ever tournament of this scale organized by Lithuania.
Twenty-four teams from all continents qualify for the final tournament.Lithuania qualifies automatically as the host.
