Lithuanian National Defense Minister Juozas Olekas has proposed to stop sending conscription notices, and inform young people that they are being drafted for military service only on the Internet.
"We propose to scrap paper notices and summons. (We propose) to publish (conscription lists) on the Internet and that would be a signal for young people of that age to check whether or not they are on the list," he told reporters on Wednesday.
Olekas, who is a member of the Seimas, has registered respective amendments.
