VILNIUS – The Lithuanian government on Friday is hosting an event to mark the 20th anniversary of the country's EU membership.
Lithuania's former chief negotiators Antanas Valionis and Petras Austrevicius are expected to take part in the event, alongside politicians, diplomats, civil servants, experts and other individuals who significantly contributed to this milestone.
The commemoration will include discussions on the significance and prospects of Lithuania's EU membership, and will also feature the premiere of a musical work dedicated to the date.
Lithuania joined the bloc on May 1, 2004.
