VILNIUS – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis is to meet with his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski and other Polish officials during his working visit to the neighboring country on Wednesday and Thursday.

Landsbergis is also scheduled to meet with Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, and Pawel Kowal, chairman of the Sejm Foreign Affairs Commission, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said in a press release on Monday.

"The main topics of the meetings with high-ranking Polish officials will be joint actions to ensure the security of the region, coordination of positions before the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., current issues of strengthening the European defense potential, military, reconstruction and integration support for Ukraine and the tightening of sanctions against the aggressor Russia and its ally Belarus," it said.

This is the first visit by Lithuania's top diplomat to Poland since last October's parliamentary elections in the neighboring country.
