Lithuania sent 6 pct of budget to Soviet Union during Soviet era - Latvian researcher

VILNIUS - Lithuania used to allot around 6 per cent of its national budget to the Soviet Union during the Soviet era, which confirms that Lithuania and other countries were not dependent on the Soviet Union but were its donors, a Latvian researcher has disclosed. Gatis Krumins, rector of the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, also stressed that approximately one-third of Lithuania's national budget went towards military structures battling Lithuanian guerrillas during the first 10 years of the regime’s control.
