Lithuania’s retail trade turnover rises in March

VILNIUS - Based on provisional data, in March 2015, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises amounted to 693.8 million euros.

It increased by 13.8 percent at constant prices against February (seasonally and working day adjusted by 0.8 percent), according to Statistics Lithuania.
Over the month, the turnover of enterprises trading in food products increased by 14.1, of those engaged in retail trade in automotive fuels - by 11.6, of those trading in non-food products - by 14.5 percent at constant prices. The largest increase in turnover was observed in retail sale of sporting equipment (40.1 percent), flowers, plants, seeds and fertilisers (31.2 percent), and hardware, paints and glass (28.9 percent) in specialised stores.

In March 2015, against March 2014, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises increased by 5.6 percent at constant prices (working day adjusted - by 4.7 percent). The turnover of enterprises trading in food products increased by 2, of those engaged in retail trade in automotive fuels - by 12.3, of those trading in non-food products - by 6.5 percent at constant prices.

In March 2015, the turnover (VAT excluded) of food and beverage service enterprises amounted to EUR 36.9 million and, against February, increased by 6.3 percent at constant prices (seasonally and working day adjusted - decreased by 0.1 percent). Compared to March 2014, the turnover of enterprises engaged in the said activities grew by 2.4 percent at constant prices (working day adjusted - by 3.2 percent).
