When I was a child I loved to go to my grandfather’s car shop and play with his box of tools. He was always very caring and never stopped working. Back then I had no idea of where he came from, only that he had a funny accent. I did not have much time to spend with him as he passed away when I was seven years old. Growing up, I began to understand a little bit more about where he came from, but it was very difficult to disclose any information about him or Latvia.
