RIGA - Latvia's e-services portal inbox.lv has faced a DDoS attack, therefore on Monday morning a number of its services were not available, LETA learned from inbox.lv representatives.
Andris Grikis, the board chairman of Inbokss company, the operator of inbox.lv portal, said that the company has faced the largest cyber attack in its history, therefore some of its services, such as access to e-mails, files, the calendar, photo and video galleries, were interrupted.
DDoS attacks are aimed at infrastructure, interrupting services, but users' data are safe, Grikis said.
information technology (IT) security incident prevention institution Cert.lv said that the cyber attack potentially might be related with the activities of cyberhooligan group Killent who supports Russia's aggressive regime, but Cert.lv in cooperation with inbox.lv still will analyze the incident.
