RIGA - Latvian animation legend Roze Stiebra passed away on Sunday at the age of 82, LETA learned from Studija Lokomotive representative Liena Vinovska.
Stiebra was one of the animation pioneers in Latvia. Together wit Ansis Berzins she established an animation film group and developed a special animation style.
She has been an example for many animators since then and many generations in Latvia grew up with her animation films.
Stiebra has received numerous awards, including Lielais Kristaps award for her lifetime contribution, Spidola Award in culture and the Order of Three Stars.
