RIGA - The largest old-age pension for a pensioner in Latvia is EUR 43,000 per month, the State Social Insurance Agency (VSAA) told LETA.
The VSAA does not disclose details about who receives the largest pension in the country, citing the data security law. However, the authority pointed out that the significant pension amount is the result of recalculations related to solidarity tax contributions to the old-age pension.
The next four largest pensions, on the other hand, range from EUR 8,000 to EUR 10,000 per month.
According to the VSAA, the minimum old-age pension from January 1 this year is EUR 188.10 for 10 to 15 years of insurance periof, and EUR 226.60 for persons with a disability since childhood. Meanwhile, for example, for persons with 41 years of insurance period, the rate is EUR 277.02, and for persons with disabilities since childhood, EUR 333.72.
