Latvia loses to Poland in UEFA European Championship qualifier

RIGA - Latvian national football team was defeated by Poland 0:3 (0:2) in a UEFA European Championship qualifier at Daugava Stadium on Thursday.

Munich Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski scored all three goals for the Polish team.

The Latvian team has not won fifteen matches in a row now.

In other Group G qualifiers on Thursday, Israel lost to Austria 1:3 and North Macedonia beat Slovenia 2:1.

Poland is currently in first place in Group G standings with 16 points from seven matches, Austria is in second place with 13 points, followed by North Macedonia and Slovenia (11 points each), Israel (eight points), while Latvia is in last place with zero points.

Latvia's next qualifier will be against Israel later in October.
