RIGA - Latvia will increase the number of its civilian experts participating in the European Union's (EU) Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine, LETA was told at the Foreign Ministry.
On October 1, the Cabinet of Ministers approved civilian expert Dace Meilija's participation in the EU Advisory Mission in support of security sector reform to Ukraine. As a result, the number of civilian experts from Latvia participating in the mission will grow to seven.
The EUAM was set up in 2014 in order to help Ukraine reform its civil security sector.
There are currently 25 EU member states and Canada participating in the mission. Latvia has been participating in the mission since 2015.
