President of the Monaco Baltic States Association Visits Latvia to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

RIGA – Professor Franco Borruto, President of the Monaco Baltic States Association (MBSA), recently paid an official visit to Latvia aimed at further strengthening the long-standing ties between the Principality of Monaco and the Baltic States.

During his stay in Riga, Professor Borruto held a cordial and productive meeting with the Latvian Minister of Health, Dr. Hosams Abu Meri. Their discussions focused on opportunities for enhanced cooperation in public health, medical research, disease prevention, and innovation in healthcare. Particular attention was devoted to cervical cancer prevention, HPV vaccination strategies, and the exchange of scientific expertise between Monaco and Latvia.

The meeting also addressed future collaborative initiatives involving academic institutions and healthcare professionals, reaffirming the shared commitment of both countries to promoting excellence in medicine and preventive healthcare.

Professor Borruto also had the pleasure of meeting H.E. Andreina Marsella, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to the Republic of Latvia. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the important role of scientific, cultural, and institutional cooperation in fostering stronger relations between Italy, Monaco, and Latvia.

Professor Borruto congratulated Ambassador Marsella on the beginning of her diplomatic mission in Riga and expressed his confidence that her experience and commitment would further strengthen the excellent relations between Italy and Latvia.

The visit represents another significant step in the Monaco Baltic States Association’s mission to promote dialogue, international cooperation, and partnerships in the fields of health, science, education, and diplomacy throughout the Baltic region.
