TALLINN – All Kinder-branded sweets from Ferrero Ardennes S.A. Belgium are being recalled from the market as a preventative measure, the Estonian Agriculture and Food Board has said.
The Kinder products in question have been linked to possible salmonella contamination and cases of salmonellosis in several European countries, including the UK, Germany, Ireland, Norway, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden and France.
"In addition to stores of AS Prisma Peremarket, various Kinder-branded products manufactured in Belgium have also reached the stores of Maxima Eesti OU and Rimi Eesti Food AS, for instance. The distributor has sent these products to retailers all over Estonia and the removal of the products from sale is being dealt with," Triinu Allika, chief specialist at the Agriculture and Food Board, said.
The recall does not apply to the Kinder Surprise 20g egg, which has the Estonian text on the original foil showing AS Mobec as the importer. These chocolates were produced in the Polish factory of Ferrero.
Those who have bought the products subject to the recall should address their complaints to the retailer operating the store where the item was bought.
