Karis meets with Lithuanian president in Tartu

TALLINN – President Alar Karis met in Tartu on Friday with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, who was visiting the Baltic Defence College.

The presidents of Estonia and Lithuania discussed the strong bilateral relations between their countries, the regional security situation, drone surveillance and defense capabilities, developments in Ukraine, and Nordic-Baltic cooperation.

The discussion is set to continue in mid-April, when President Alar Karis, at the invitation of his Lithuanian counterpart Gitanas Nausėda, will travel to Lithuania for a state visit with his wife, Sirje Karis.

A more detailed program for the state visit, scheduled for April 15-17, will be released closer to the date.
