RIGA - At the moment, it is important for Latvia to solve the Covid-19 crisis, not to create new crises, talking about instability in the government, the leader of the New Conservative Party Janis Bordans told Latvian Radio this morning.
According to Bordans, the issue of competence in crisis management is currently topical - both in the Ministry of Health and in Covid-19 crisis management in general.
Asked whether Health Minister Daniels Pavluts (For Development) is doing his job, Bordans did not respond directly, saying that the government is made up of political forces, but the work is led by the prime minister, who has to organize teamwork, but this specific area is the minister's responsibility.
''I cannot talk about the work of another ministry, because I am responsible for my field,'' the politician said.
Also called to assess whether the government led by Krisjanis Karins is stable, Bordans did not give a direct answer, saying that the question of whether the government collapses or not to him is not primary.
As reported, the Latvian Medical Association (LAB) is demanding the resignation of Pavluts, taking into account the long-term mistakes of the Ministry of Health in crisis management and the planned announcement of the mobilization of medics. Later other medics' organizations joined the demand.
