As the UK is set to leave the EU, Ireland continues to seek closer ties with the Baltic and Nordic countries. Importantly to the Baltics, Ireland is home to one of the largest expatriate Latvian and Lithuanian communities in Europe. The former consists of between 40,000 and 50,000 people. “Latvians contribute greatly to Irish society and economic development and are opening doors for further links between both countries,’’ Ambassador of Ireland to Latvia H.E.
