IOC sanction Belarus president Lukashenko

LAUSANNE (Switzerland) - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has imposed sanctions on Belarus including suspending its president Alexander Lukashenko from Olympic activity including the Tokyo 2020 Games delayed to next year. Lukashenko has led the Belarus Olympic Committee (NOC) for 23 years and won disputed re-election as national president in August, prompting protests throughout the country.
