RIGA - We hope that the resumption of theater performances and other public events is the beginning of the end of the Covid-19 pandemic, emphasized the Minister of Health Daniels Pavluts (For Development), addressing the medics who attended the first live performance at the Valmiera Drama Theater on Saturday.
He noted that the pandemic has been a difficult time for everyone and that the public may have been unfair to medical staff at times, without noticing that the front line was in hospitals and doctors' offices.
"I want to say a huge thank you for everything you have done and gone through. I know that behind the white coveralls there are people - tired, fatigued, sometimes burnt out. Also for your family members - children and spouses - they have missed you. Thank you for overcoming this period," the Minister of Health emphasized.
The minister's advisor Lasma Bindere informed LETA that before visiting the theater, Pavluts also met with doctors of Vidzeme Hospital, got acquainted with the development plans of the medical institution, as well as discussed salaries for young doctors. ''We can be satisfied that, despite the pandemic, the situation in the hospital is stable,'' Pavluts said.
