Heritage specialists want Green Bridge statues' legal protection stripped

March 1, 2016, saw the department of Lithuania’s Cultural Heritage Assessment Council propose to strip the Soviet-era statues removed from Vilnius’ Green Bridge of their legal protection. "The council voted unanimously for stripping the Green Bridge and its statues of their legal protection," Ruta Evelina Sutinyte, spokeswoman for the department, told BNS Lithuania.
