Last month, Polish president Andrzej Duda visited Kyiv and pledged to assist Ukraine in implementing its reforms to decentralize the state. “It is a crucial for Ukraine’s advancement towards the EU and Poland is ready to support Ukraine, in particular in sharing its experience in decentralization,” he told reporters at the time. Ukraine can use all the help it can get as it implements its many reforms. Help from Poland is especially welcome on the administrative front of this effort because the new governing system is modeled after the Polish one.
