The Ministry of Social Security and Labor recently announced the recipients of the National Responsible Business Awards, naming Gurtam in four categories.
The global telematics leader, Gurtam, based in Vilnius, has received recognition at the National Responsible Business Awards organized by the Ministry of Social Security and Labor. The company received awards in four categories: the main award Socially Responsible Company of the Year, the Best Workplace for Creating Safety and the Best Emotional Environment, Most Community-Oriented Company of the Year, and Most Community-Friendly Company of the Year chosen by the “15min” portal readers.
“We are dedicated to cultivating a supportive and nurturing environment for all team members,” says Aliaksei Shchurko, Gurtam CEO. “Our focus on employee well-being drives every aspect of our work, from innovative solutions to the creation of a sustainable organizational culture.”
The awards highlight Gurtam’s emphasis on promoting a strong community where employees feel supported in a socially responsible environment.
Extending Support to the Professional Community
This is the first time Gurtam has been recognized with such meaningful awards, and it reflects the efforts and investments the company puts into its activities, both for the employees and for the community around.
Gurtam actively shares knowledge and expertise, handling professional events for the IT community and industry experts. One of the examples includes Gurtam’s DevConf 2024. Over 300 IT professionals from 12 countries flocked to Vilnius to exchange knowledge crucial to the future of business and global collaboration. All proceeds from DevConf 2024 were donated to IT educational scholarships, reinforcing Gurtam’s underlying mission to invest in the next generation of industry leaders and upcoming talent.
Based in Lithuania, Gurtam is pivotal in the regional business ecosystem. As a proud member of “Unicorns LT,” technological advancement and business growth support startups and those looking to expand inside and out of the region. Gurtam is also an active partner of “Infobalt,” where knowledge sharing and innovation cultivate smooth digital transformation opportunities for local, regional, and global organizations.
Beyond business support and organizational opportunities, Gurtam is heavily invested in education and professional development at the academic level. Collaborations with leading institutions like Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, ISM University of Management and Economics, and Vilnius Coding School empower students through many resources like industry internships, career mentorship, and educational programming.
Receiving the community-oriented award solidifies Gurtam’s goals in 2025. The company is poised to expand its contributions to the IT and telematics software sectors. Hundreds of industry leaders are anticipated at the “Telematics & Connected Mobility Conference,” occurring September 10-11th at the LITEXPO – helping shape the future of connected devices that inspire efficiency and support global sustainability initiatives. This flagship gathering is only one example of the variety of events where Gurtam acts as a catalyst for innovation and collaboration.
Focus on Employee Well-Being
The second category of the National Responsible Business Awards recognizes Gurtam’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of team members, their families, and the wider community. The telematics company frequently organizes corporate events that ease the integration of employees into the local community. The company actively supports internal events for employees, as well as community-focused and sustainability projects. Gurtam contributes to tree-planting efforts through the “Hold Earth” program, donating time and energy to reduce the global carbon footprint. It is also a supporter of the “Tautmilė Shelter,” focused on improving the welfare of animals.
In the other two categories, Gurtam was chosen as a community-oriented and friendly company for its activities in creating value. It noted that the company is a responsible member of society and community. Moreover, Gurtam encourages other companies to join social initiatives.
In receiving awards from the Ministry of Social Security and Labor, Gurtam has the chance to demonstrate a more holistic approach to business. Instead of focusing on corporate success, Gurtam offers an alternative where meaningful contributions toward society and the environment are balanced with employee well-being and innovative development. The company remains fully committed to expanding a positive social impact that strengthens local and global communities now and in the future.
