Gulbis tumbles out of French Open in second round

PARIS - Flamboyant Latvian tennis player Ernests Gulbis fought hard on the clay last week at the French Open. But that was not enough to get past the classy Frenchman Nicholas Maille, who beat Gulbis in their second round matchup 6-3, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 — sending the Latvian crashing out of the tournament. Maille was playing in front of a home crowd at the iconic Roland Garros clay courts, where Gulbis has performed well in previous years. This year, however, Gulbis has been in dismal form throughout the season, and he must now brace himself for a fall...
