MyCabin, a Latvian manufacturer of sustainable housing, is taking a significant step in its development by entering one of Europe’s largest and most promising housing markets – Germany. The company projects that by 2026, Germany could become one of its primary export markets, enabling a 25% increase in its prefabricated home production capacity.
MyCabin's expansion in Germany was officially launched with the presentation of the demo house "Milla 40" in Bad Vilbel, a town near Frankfurt, allowing interested parties to experience MyCabin's quality and housing philosophy – rooted in sustainability, design, and efficiency.
"The decision to expand into the German market is no coincidence. Like many places in Europe, Germany is facing a housing shortage, with an estimated deficit between 600,000 and 800,000 housing units. While demand continues to grow, traditional construction is too slow and cost-inefficient. We offer a high-quality, sustainable, and fast alternative – especially suited to the new generation of homeowners," says Ģirts Draugs, Founder and CEO of MyCabin.
The company’s efficient production process significantly reduces both construction time and material waste. Depending on the size and specifications of the house, the average construction time ranges from two to four months.
"We have identified the German market as a strategically important region – the high purchasing power and relatively low bureaucratic barriers create a favorable environment for long-term development. Building a local team is a key prerequisite for successful market entry, and we are actively working on this," adds Ģirts Draugs.
Following the opening of the demo house in Germany, there has been strong interest from a variety of audiences: families seeking modern and affordable private homes, seniors looking to downsize to more compact and low-maintenance living, and investors who see potential in the development and rental of holiday homes. In Germany, customers not only value the quality of MyCabin’s products but also regard Latvia as a mark of excellence in the woodworking industry.
So far this year, 31 MyCabin homes have been sold across Europe, reflecting strong customer satisfaction and international demand. Last year, the company installed demo homes in Estonia and Lithuania and established sales offices, building an international team.
In the near future, MyCabin plans to expand into other markets, including Poland and Finland, where growth potential is supported by both geographical proximity and favorable construction environments.
