WASHINGTON – Global democracy saw hard times in 2018 as the situation worsened for the 13th consecutive year, the US-based rights group Freedom House said in its annual report.
The NGO warned in the Freedom in the World 2019 report that “challenges to democracy" in the United States are "threatening to undermine political rights and civil liberties" around the world.
