GALIO GROUP’s project GUSTAVS business center receives BREEAM Excellent Fully-Fitted sustainability certification

GUSTAVS business center at Gustava Zemgala gatve 73, which is the debut project in Latvia of the real estate developer Galio Development, has become the first building in Latvia to receive the BREEAM Excellent Fully-Fitted sustainable building certification. The development and construction process incorporated sustainable solutions in both the exterior and interior design, allowing the project team to receive a high BREEAM* rating.

The assessment of GUSTAVS business center was implemented by Vesta Consulting. The BREEAM Excellent Fully-Fitted assessment encompasses sustainability in its broadest sense – not just energy use and carbon emissions, but also a wide range of issues concerned with water consumption, health and well-being, pollution, transport, materials, waste, ecology and management.

Our assessment “Fully-Fitted” is distinguished by its broader scope with demonstrated excellence in all areas of sustainability, including the interior finishes such as appliances, lighting, furniture and other elements. We believe that with this event, we will be able to further strengthen our position in the Latvian real estate sector.”

The project has been designed and implemented taking BREEAM requirements in the categories of innovation, land use and ecology, transport, waste and pollution reduction into account. Particular attention was paid to building management, energy, health and well-being aspects. 

The office building portfolio of the real estate developer GALIO GROUP includes S7, Freedom 36, Wave and the commercial space projects Kintu 11 in Vilnius and Stock-O stock offices in Klaipėda.
