Four officials and one business representative charged in relation to procurement of temporary fence on Belarusian border

RIGA - The prosecution has pressed charges against four officials of the Provision State Agency and one business representative in relation to a procurement of temporary fence on the Belarusian border.

The criminal prosecution in late June was launched by the Internal Security Office. Now the officials are charged with large-scale fraud and abuse of authority, while the business representative is charged with large-scale fraud, LETA learned from the prosecution.

The prosecution did not elaborate on the details of the case and pretrial investigation is still going on.

As reported, in November 2021, installation of temporary fence on the Latvian-Belarusian border in a stretch of almost 37 kilometers was completed.
