In preparation for the spring season – traditionally one of the most active periods in the shopping centre industry – “Domina Shopping” has significantly expanded its offering. In the first quarter of this year, spanning January through March, the shopping centre, together with its tenants, has invested nearly 3 million euros in the development of eleven new stores, service locations and concepts.
Dina Bunce, Director of “Domina Shopping”: “Spring traditionally increases customer traffic in shopping centres, as new fashion and lifestyle collections enter the market. This year, at Domina, we are using this period as a growth acceleration point, strategically expanding our tenant mix and enhancing the centre’s functionality. Our focus is clear – to further strengthen Domina as a multifunctional shopping centre for the residents and visitors of Riga, where shopping can be seamlessly combined with sports, entertainment and everyday services across more than 170 stores.”
From sports to entertainment
In just three months, “Domina Shopping” has significantly expanded and enhanced its tenant mix across several strategically important, dynamic and growth–oriented categories, including sports, dining, entertainment, health and services.
Five new tenants
-“Catch Pixel” interactive entertainment park – the only and currently largest park of its kind in Latvia has opened at Domina. Spanning 900 m², it offers a wide range of digitally interactive games, including a mini bowling experience unique in the Baltics. A further expansion of 700 m² with new and unique entertainment experiences is planned for autumn.
-“VIZIONETTE” optical concept store – part of the OC Vision Group, returned in Domina, offering a modern approach to eye care by combining professional services with a stylish product range.
- “BAO” Asian cuisine restaurant – the brand’s first standalone restaurant in Latvia has opened at Domina, offering an authentic Asian dining experience in nearly 100 m² of space.
-“SilkFox” laser clinic – a new provider of beauty and wellness services, expanding the centre’s wellbeing offering.
-“BOBA store café” – a kiosk–style café serving as a modern and convenient stop for anyone who appreciates quality beverages and sweet treats, both on busy weekdays and relaxed weekends. The menu includes coffee drinks, a wide selection of bubble teas and various desserts. DIY bubble tea kits are also available for preparing favourite drinks at home.
Renovations and relocations of six existing tenant stores
-“MyFitness” sports club – the most modern fitness club in the Baltics has reopened in expanded premises, now 58 % larger (2,300 m²). The new infrastructure accommodates up to twice as many visitors and provides facilities for both individual workouts and group classes. The club also features the exclusive “RedWave Pure” red light therapy, with a “Day SPA” zone set to open soon.
-“Jānis Roze” bookstore – following reconstruction, a modernised and expanded bookstore has reopened, increasing its area by more than 150 m² to a total of 483 m², offering a contemporary environment for book and culture enthusiasts.
-“Latvijas Pasts” branch – a renovated post office branch was opened at the end of March, providing more convenient and accessible everyday services for visitors.
-“LAGE” gastronomy and cafeteria – reopened in a new and larger location (opposite to “Stenders” and “Maxima XXX”), featuring a stylish new interior and its well–known and popular selection of meals.
- In addition, the “Forevers” meat products store and “Clean Control” dry cleaning service have also reopened in new locations, aligned with the latest brand design concepts.
With the addition of new tenants and the development of new concepts, “Domina Shopping” is also introducing a refreshed brand positioning for the spring season.
Kristiāna Kārkliņa, Marketing Manager at “Domina Shopping”: “While in the past shopping for clothing and footwear was the primary reason to visit a shopping centre, today at Domina we can confidently say that visitors can combine shopping with sports, entertainment and everyday services in one logical, convenient and enjoyable experience. This is the direction in which the entire industry is evolving, and we are deliberately driving this transformation forward – because yes, it is possible.”
Coming in April – focus on health and wellbeing
“Domina Shopping” will maintain its development momentum in the coming months. Already in April, the centre’s offering will be expanded with a range of health and wellbeing services, alongside entirely new and unique service concepts. More detailed information will follow separately.
