Estonia's state-held postal company Eesti Post said on December 22 that the extraordinary subsidy for the delivery of periodicals allocated by the government for 2022 will help cover the losses caused by the home delivery of periodicals. Home delivery will continue to be a loss-making service despite the price increase for publishers, spokespeople for Eesti Post said.
The government will increase the subsidy for the delivery of periodicals in rural areas from 1.778 million euros to 4.528 million euros, or by 2.75 million euros, next year.
