Vilnius, Lithuania: Civinity Engineering – a subsidiary of Civinity, one of the most extensive building maintenance, engineering and technological solutions groups in the Baltic states – has secured a contract in the United Kingdom. The company will design and install engineering systems in residential buildings developed by real estate company Vastint UK in the Sugar House Island district of East London. The project is scheduled to be implemented over the next three years.
In the third and fourth stages of the Sugar House Island residential development, Civinity Engineering will install the central engineering systems required for apartment buildings: heating and heating systems, ventilation, water supply and sewerage network, electrical, low-voltage and automation systems. The solutions have already been designed in a digital 3D environment, and work on the site has already begun.
Deividas Jacka, Founder and Shareholder of Civinity: “Projects of this scale in London are a clear signal that engineering expertise from Lithuania and the Baltic states can compete in Europe’s most demanding markets. This is important not only for our group – it strengthens the reputation of the entire region and demonstrates our ability to export high-value-added services.”
He noted that the new contract is the outcome of a long-standing partnership with Vastint and marks their sixth project together.
According to Jacka, although Civinity identifies Lithuania, Latvia and the United Kingdom as its main markets, the group does not limit itself to these countries, and designs and installs engineering systems wherever its clients are developing projects.
Jacka concludes: “Over more than 20 years of operation, we have completed hundreds of projects across European cities – from our core markets in Lithuania, Latvia and the United Kingdom to Denmark, Poland and beyond. It is precisely this ‘follow the client’ strategy that enables us to grow rapidly and build strong, long-term partnerships, such as our collaboration with Vastint.”
Civinity Engineering entered the UK market in 2021, when it designed and installed engineering systems in the commercial buildings at Sugar House Island. Following the successful completion of this phase, the company has been awarded a new project: the design and installation of engineering systems for residential buildings currently under construction in the district’s ongoing development.
Sugar House Island is a multifunctional neighbourhood in the Stratford area of East London. By the end of the project, 1,200 apartments, 61,500 sqm of office and retail space, a new school and 1.2 hectares of public outdoor space are planned for the 10.5-hectare site. Currently, the district is home to more than 600 residents and houses offices, a two-stream primary school and the Talent House urban culture centre.
Civinity is a group of companies that provides building maintenance services and develops engineering and technological solutions in the Baltic states and the United Kingdom. The group consists of more than 30 companies with over 1,600 employees. In 2024, Civinity’s revenue reached EUR 88.5 million, with pro forma EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) of EUR 7.4 million.
