TALLINN – Estonian President Alar Karis on Thursday proclaimed law amendments adopted for the introduction of the European Union's Entry/Exit System (EES).
Karis on Thursday proclaimed law amendments to the Police and Border Guard Act and associated laws carried out in order to make the necessary changes for the introduction of the EES in Estonia, spokespeople for the president said.
The purpose of the EES is to improve the control of the external borders of the EU, reduce illegal immigration and help prevent and combat terrorism and other serious crimes.
