TALLINN - Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid on Wednesday proclaimed legislative amendments concerning the creation of a new mechanism under the Courts Act, changing of the principle of the calculation of some environmental fees and the creation of the Agricultural and Food Board.
In the Environmental Fees Act, the principle of the calculation of environmental fees was changed for activities in the course of which pollutants are introduced into the environment for consumption by living organisms as food, spokespeople for the president said.
The amendments to the Courts Act and the Code of Civil Procedure create a new procedure in the law on courts that enables to forward court cases for solving to another court of the same tier when that is necessary for the appropriate functioning of the administration of justice.
The president also proclaimed into law a bill passed by the parliament on June 10 on the reorganization of the Estonian Agricultural Board and the Veterinary and Food Board into a new joint agency called the Agricultural and Food Board. The new joint agency will start work from Jan. 1, 2021.
