TALLINN – According to Estonia's state-held postal company Eesti Post operating under the Omniva brand, it is currently not possible to send shipments to Russia.

"Due to the lack of air services, it is temporarily not possible to send shipments to Russia. We will notify you when the situation changes," the postal services company said in a in a press release.

On the basis of a decision of the government, the Estonian Transport Administration on Sunday issued a notice to airmen (NOTAM) by which Estonia prohibits the use of its airspace by all aircraft owned or operated by Russian citizens or airlines. Exempted from the ban are humanitarian flights and search and rescue flights taking place with the permission of the Transport Administration, emergency overflights and emergency landings.

In response, Russia closed its airspace to Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian and Slovenian airlines.
