TALLINN - Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal, together with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, will host a high-level meeting of NATO leaders from Baltic Sea countries in Helsinki on Tuesday.
The meeting, held at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki, will be attended by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, and European Commission Vice President Henna Virkkunen, alongside the Estonian prime minister and the Finnish president.
The summit will focus on the security of the Baltic Sea region, particularly measures needed to protect critical underwater infrastructure. The leaders' discussions will center on strengthening NATO's presence in the Baltic Sea and deterring Russia's shadow fleet.
