TALLINN - The number of people requiring hospitalization due to the novel coronavirus in Estonia is exhibiting a slight downward trend, having declined by 18 during the past week, the Health Board said.

On average, the number of patients who had received hospital treatment for the coronavirus and were discharged from hospital was seven per day, and totaled 50 during the previous week, spokespeople for the health Board told BNS.

New hospitalizations on average numbered five per day.

The number of people requiring hospital treatment due to COVID-19 stood at 146 at the start of last week, compared to 128 by the end of the week, having thus declined by 18.

The number of patients requiring mechanical ventilation likewise decreased over the past week from 11 to nine.

A slight downward trend has been registered in the number of new hospitalizations; however, restrictions and adherence thereto must continue to ensure that the efforts made in order to achieve stabilization have not been a waste of time, spokespeople for the Health Board said.
