TALLINN - Estonia's highest ranked tennis player Anett Kontaveit, WTA No 20, on Tuesday defeated former world number one, Germany's Angelique Kerber, WTA No 13, 7-6(7), 6-2 in the opening round of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, Ohio.
