Estonia ready to take over Council of Europe presidency

TALLINN - Estonian Foreign Minister Marina Kaljurand participated in a meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in Sofia to take over the presidency of the Council of Europe from Bulgaria. Assuming the presidency, Estonia becomes the voice for the council’s 47 member states, who stands firmly for fundamental European values — human rights, democracy, and rule of law, the minister said in her remarks released before departure.
