TALLINN - The Estonian National Defense Promotion Foundation delivered medical equipment to a children's medical rehabilitation and palliative care center in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, on Tuesday.

The donation included an X-ray machine, two ultrasound devices, and an electroencephalograph, with a total value of nearly 100,000 euros.

Mait Palts, head of the foundation, said that continued aid deliveries to Ukraine are possible thanks to the ongoing support of the Estonian people and businesses.

"Every donor is invaluable -- this cooperation brings hope and creates real change. What makes this delivery special is its target group -- children. In war, they are the most vulnerable and often need our help more than anyone else. It is heartening to see that Estonian companies and individuals are willing to support the most vulnerable," Palts said.

He added that while this shipment is being delivered, preparations are already underway for the next aid package to frontline units of the National Guard, which will primarily include drones, batteries, and other equipment.

The goal of the Kryvyi Rih rehabilitation and palliative care center is to ensure the well-being and modern treatment of children in the region under difficult conditions, while reducing the burden on local hospitals. Thanks to the donated equipment, the center will be able to better diagnose internal injuries and provide treatments ranging from speech therapy to fracture care.

In addition to delivering the equipment, representatives met with officials from the Dnipropetrovsk region. Discussions covered the regional situation, humanitarian aid efforts, and increasing opportunities for Estonian businesses in the area.

The shipment was heavily supported by Estonian plywood manufacturer Kohila Vineer, with one ultrasound device donated by medical supplies company Ortolink Invest. Local logistics were assisted by the Dnipro Chamber of Commerce. The foundation always aims to procure and deliver aid from Estonia where possible, in cooperation with Estonian businesses or as in-kind donations from companies and organizations.

This was the 24th aid shipment to Ukraine organized by the Estonian National Defense Promotion Foundation.

As of Tuesday, a total of 6,233,797.15 euros has been raised to support Ukraine. More information about the campaign is available at riigikaitse.ee.
