TALLINN - The Estonian Center for Defense Investments (RKIK) and Ukrainian Defense Procurement Agency (AOZ) have signed a cooperation agreement on defense procurement between the two countries in Kyiv.

The signing was attended by Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov, AOZ Director Maryna Bezrukova, Estonian Ambassador to Ukraine Anneli Kolk, and RKIK Director General Magnus-Valdemar Saar.

"Developing bilateral defense cooperation with Estonia is one of our main priorities. I am convinced that further communication between the agencies will contribute to the procurement of armaments and military equipment for Ukraine," Klimenkov said.

Saar emphasized the continuity of Estonia's support for Ukraine, noting, "Estonia has been one of the first to assist Ukraine, providing materials before and during the war. The agreement signed now further intensifies the cooperation between the two countries."

The parties will begin actively implementing the memorandum's provisions to find new opportunities for supplying defense-related materials to Ukraine. They will also share lessons learned from the war and their application within the armed forces of Ukraine and Estonia.

"We look forward to active communication in procurement and the implementation of joint projects. This will help modernize the Ukrainian armed forces and meet their needs," the director of the Ukrainian Defense Procurement Agency, Maryna Bezrukova, said.
