Estonia: Chinese New Year to be celebrated with show, concert in Tallinn

TALLINN - The Estonian capital Tallinn will celebrate Chinese New Year with an open-air show on Vabaduse (Freedom) Square and a concert in Estonia Concert Hall on Jan. 29.

The show scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. features Chinese dances, acrobatic and martial arts acts, a fire show and fireworks.

Performers in the Grand Chinese New Year Concert starting at 7 p.m. include the Shaanxi Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra and Zhejiang Traditional Orchestra under the baton of conductor Zhang Lie.

The Grand Chinese New Year Concert marks its 20th anniversary in 2017. It began with a concert in Vienna's Musikverein in 1998 and by now has become popular worldwide.
