TALLINN - Estonian Interior Minister Andres Anvelt and management of the Police and Border Guard Board agreed on the gross basic salary of patrol officers and border guards raising to at least 1,280 euros next year, to which bonuses would be added, for instance in East-Viru County the real salary of patrol officers would total 1,700 euros.
Around 12.9 million euros have been allocated for the salary raise of the Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) employees for next year, which means that the salaries of all PPA employees will be raised by 10 percent on average.
At present the minimum base salary of a patrol officer or border guard is 1,075 euros at present. As of next year it would be 1,280 euros per month and when bonuses are added, for instance for working during the holidays or at nights, the monthly gross salary would be at least 1,400 euros. In addition, PPA employees working in Tallinn would get 200 euros and in East-Viru County 300 euros as a region bonus.
