Estonia: 250 people waiting in line to adopt child

There are 250 people wanting to adopt a child in Estonia and they have to wait up to five years, the daily Postimees reports. Head of the adoption center Oma Pere, Inna Klaos, said that there are 250 people in Estonia waiting in line to adopt a child and the average family who wants to adopt a child is between ages 35-45. On average, people wait in line to adopt a child for two to three years. "At present a home is found quickly for five- to seven-year-olds," Klaos said. She added that the situation of eight-year-old or older children is more complicated.
