TALLINN – Lauri Hussar, chairman of the non-parliamentary party Estonia 200, said that Prime Minister Kaja Kallas is responsible for the failure of the Paldiski LNG terminal.

"Further shortcomings and the omissions and irresponsibility of the state-owned company Elering revealed today force us to clearly turn our attention to Prime Minister Kaja Kallas," Hussar was quoted by party spokespeople as saying.

According to Hussar, Estonian companies have seen enough obstacles and indifference on the part of the state for us to be able to critically assess the attitude of the state as a whole towards entrepreneurs and the supply of gas to Estonia.

"There is no LNG terminal in Estonia, the Finnish terminal is still not ready and Estonia does not have any agreements for preferential access, the new connection application of Estonian companies in Paldiski was rejected by Elering," Hussar said.

According to him, the state's arrogant attitude, omissions, empty promises and sloppiness at all levels are completely unprecedented.

"I invite Prime Minister Kaja Kallas and the entire government to do everything possible so that gas can come from Paldiski to Estonia. Today, the question is not only Estonia's security of supply, but the functioning of the entire economic environment and the attitude the state has towards entrepreneurs as partners," the Estonia 200 chairman said.

According to Hussar, Estonia 200 is of the opinion that Estonia must do everything possible to ensure security of supply and to stop state obstruction of the activities of Estonian entrepreneurs. Only in this way is it possible to take the first step to start restoring the lost trust of companies in the state.
