EMAIL TO THE EDITOR To the Editor of the Baltic Times.

Sir,
All Latvian newspapers, with the exception of The Baltic Times, which is of course printed in English, continually change foreign names, namely Politicians/Celebrities, to Latvian spelling,  I  wonder if  any of your readers can enlighten me as to the reason for this. It is not  a new phenomena:  my late  Husband who was Latvian also complained about it.
I  feel that any Latvian  wishing to travel  or work  in Europe  would  be totally confused.  A name is  a  name  and  should not  be ‘ Latvianized’.
