TALLINN – The average price for electricity in Estonia's Nord Pool market area is set to drop by 16.5 percent on Friday compared to Thursday, settling at 135.25 euros per megawatt-hour. At the same time, a significant price gap with Finland will remain, where electricity is nearly three times cheaper.
The price in Latvia and Lithuania on Friday will be identical to that in Estonia.
The day's highest price will be in the morning, when a megawatt-hour will cost 211.39 euros between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. The cheapest electricity will be available late in the evening around 10:15 p.m., when the price drops to 88.11 euros.
While the price in Latvia and Lithuania will be identical to Estonia's, in Finland it will be just 46.34 euros.
The average price of electricity in Estonia on Thursday was 161.93 euros.
