Delegation of European Parliament's defense subcommittee to visit Estonia

TALLINN – A delegation from the European Parliament's subcommittee on security and defense will visit Estonia on Monday and Tuesday to receive immediate information on cyber threats related to the escalation of the crisis in Ukraine.

The delegation will be led by Bart Groothuis, a member of the European Parliament's foreign affairs committee and the committee on foreign intervention and an expert in cyber defense, the representation of the European Parliament in Estonia said. The other members of the delegation are Giorgos Kyrtsos, Sven Mikser, Eero Heinaluoma and Lars Patrick Berg.

The program of the visit includes meetings with Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, members of the foreign affairs and national defense committees of the Riigikogu, Minister of Information Technology Andres Sutt, officials at the Ministry of Defense, the defense forces, the Defense Industry Cluster and leaders of the NATO Collective Cyber Defense Center of Excellence.

The subcommittee on security and defense is a subcommittee of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament.
