RIGA - President Edgars Rinkevics will receive Czech President Petr Pavel and First Lady Eva Pavlova on a state visit today and tomorrow, the president's aide Martins Dregeris informed LETA.
During the meeting, Rinkevics and Czech President Pavel will discuss bilateral relations between Latvia and the Czech Republic, defense cooperation, regional security, transatlantic relations, Russia's war against Ukraine and support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
The meeting will be followed by a press conference
The Czech President will also meet with Prime Minister Evika Silina (New Unity) and Saeima deputy speaker Zanda Kalnina-Lukasevica (New Unity).
On March 10, Rinkevics and the Czech President will lay flowers at the Freedom Monument, open the Latvian-Czech Business Forum and visit the Latvian Occupation Museum.
On March 11, the officials will visit the Adazi military base. The Czech President and his spouse will also visit Bauska Castle.
